WHAT IS CREATIVE MATTING?

 I create a ONE-OF-A-KIND matting that is unique to every painting, print, photograph, or object that my customers bring me or something that I find intriguing to show my style of work

   What makes my work so unique is that my sole medium is 100% individually hand-carved matt boards. While other framers and matters sometimes extend the artist's work into the matt board by painting or drawing, I never impinge on the artist’s medium. I use my own medium to create my art to complement and enhance their work. All of the colors, designs, pictures, themes, etc. are entirely carved out of matt board or engraved into the matt board with knives, scalpels, and other sharp tools, some of which are of my own design.

 As you can see by these examples, the range of creative possibilities is endless. I use from 2-6 layers of matt board per piece. There are almost 1000 different colors of matt board available greatly enhancing my creative abilities to make a truly unique creative “vision” for my customers.
