DOB: 20 August
1947
I was born and raised in Southern California with a few side trips to military
bases since my father was a military officer. I did my undergraduate and graduate studies at UCLA as well as some graduate studies at the University
in Naples, Italy. Armed with degrees in Art History, I taught at UCLA and was a partner in a Beverly Hills Art Gallery. I also managed to run a
restaurant during and after graduate school.
In 1975, my wife, Ruth, and I returned to Europe where we'd met. We spent a couple
of years camping as we traveled to see all the great works of art and architecture in Europe and North Africa. Two years was not enough time so we
decided to stay.
We settled in Southern Germany for 12 years. I worked as an importer and contract
employee for the US Government. We moved to Spain in 1987. This is where I began doing Creative Matting. Almost all of our free time during our 18
years over-seas we spent camping and traveling.
In 1993 we decided it was time to return to America. We'd always loved the colors of New Mexico and the "Spanish-like" atmosphere so we headed for Albuquerque.
On 1 January 1994, I opened VISIONS CREATIVE MATTING. My work was so well received
that I was encouraged to exhibit at local art shows. I have contributed creatively matted pieces of artwork that have been used for advertising and
door prizes at art shows.
In between creating uniquely matted pictures for galleries, artists, and the
public, I have been exhibiting in Albuquerque and Santa Fe at various art shows including the Rio Grande Balloon Fiesta Arts and Crafts Show, Ye Merry
Olde Christmas Arts and Craft Show, New Mexico Enchanted Arts and Crafts Show, and the Spring Art Expo. Thanks to this wonderful exposure, I now have
clients all over the country.
I currently have a studio in my home in Corrales where Ruth and I have
successfully made the transition from Ex-patriots to citizens of New Mexico.
